For those students pursuing the non-thesis MS degree, the comprehensive exam is composed of one exam from the full selection of qualifying exams for Ph.D. candidates. The exam topic is the student’s choice. The non-thesis comprehensive exam is administered in the student's final semester and is independently analyzed by the Comprehensive Exam Committee. To take the exam, the student must notify Dr. Tony Schmitz (firstname.lastname@example.org) of his/her intention to take the exam and the exam topic by the deadline established, typically the second week of the exam semester, but no later than the last day of that month.
