Current Undergraduate Students

Freshmen

All freshman students in the College of Engineering are advised by the Office of Student Development and Success (OSDS).

Matriculated Students (Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors)

Sophomore, junior, and senior mechanical engineering students are advised by the MEES Academic Advising Team, which includes both professional advisors and faculty. Your assigned advisors are located in CONNECT on your Student Home page at right, under ‘Your Success Team’. To schedule an appointment with your advisor, click the blue ‘Make an Appointment’ button.

Transfer Students

Students transferring from an outside institution into the Mechanical Engineering at Charlotte must:

  • meet the Transfer Admission Requirements established by Charlotte
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 for Mechanical Engineering
  • Pre-Major/Prerequisite Courses: Calculus I course (with grade of C or above) equivalent to MATH 1241
  • Transferable Credit Hours: 24

All transfer students (including second degree students) admitted to the BSME degree program are required to attend a Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) session prior to their first semester of classes. Visit the SOAR website for more information and to register for a SOAR session. Transfer students are assigned a department advisor at the time they attend SOAR.
